Description: US President Donald Trump has once again stirred the geopolitical pot by stating that he wanted Palestinians completely out of Gaza and moved to Egypt or Jordan. He added that war thorn people of Gaza should look for a stable and peaceful life elsewhere as the Strip has been completely demolished. His statement has been well received by far – right Israeli sympathizers, such as Israel’s Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich but was strenuously criticized by representatives from the Hamas political bureau. Trump’s idea was to engage in a cooperation effort with Jordan and Egypt in order to establish conditions for the 1.5 million displaced Palestinians from Gaza.
Impact: With the conflict tensions still running high in the region, Trump’s inflammatory statements only infuse dissatisfaction and negative feedback aside from Israeli far – right sympathizers. With the ceasefire in Gaza still practically and politically fragile, Trump’s uncalculated statements could only inflict and prompt the conflict in more violent armed encounters. The US political establishment practicing unilateral foreign policy could cause irreparable damage in future relation building and plunge worldwide conflicts into an irreversible limbo.
