Description: German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius has announced that Germany has deployed two air defense patriot units to Poland which would be operational by Monday. The Patriot units would be deployed close to the Ukrainian – Polish border in Jasionka, to protect the airspace in the region as the constant threat of the Russia – Ukraine war spiling over the Polish border intensifies.

Impact: With the intensified aerial combat operations in the past couple of weeks between Russia and Ukraine, the enhanced air defense from Poland would serve as guarantor on their border with war thorn Ukraine. Poland as EU and NATO’s first line of defense would enlarge their defense capabilities especially on the borders with Belarus and Ukraine while NATO and EU countries are expected to funnel even more equipment and military personnel in the country. With Russia exploiting ground advances in the past week, Poland is expected to bolster their all-around defense and military capabilities as the war shows no indications of ending.
