In a joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Trump stated that the US would gladly own that land and turn it into a tourist attraction one day. The statement was overwhelmed by negative comments from the opposing Democratic party, as well as negative reactions from Saudi Arabia, the Palestinian Authority and Hamas. The test of North Korean weapons was also followed by pledges and statements from Kim Jong Un in his reaffirmation on taking a tougher stance on the US if they don’t recognize North Korea’s sovereignty. Description: US President Donald Trump has once again stirred the geopolitical pot by stating that he wanted Palestinians completely out of Gaza and moved to Egypt or Jordan. He added that war thorn people of Gaza should look for a stable and peaceful life elsewhere as the Strip has been completely demolished. His statement has been well received by far – right Israeli sympathizers, such as Israel’s Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich but was strenuously criticized by representatives from the Hamas political bureau. Description: Aleksandar Lukashenko has secured another mandate as the President of Belarus after a controversial vote confirmed his reelection in which he enjoyed the support of 87.6% of the people. Lukashenko is already more than 30 years in power in Belarus and has all his political opponents either exiled or imprisoned. Description: The newly appointed US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has followed on President Donald Trump’s executive order and instructed all US foreign personnel to seize with support and funding of all foreign programs, pending reevaluation. The seizure of funding would exempt only special military aid and financial support to Egypt and Israel as well as expenses regarding other locally employed staff. Description: The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has severed diplomatic ties with Rwanda over allegations of sponsorship of the armed conflict and the M23 rebel group. The Congolese army alongside the UN’s peacekeeping force MONUSCO have unsuccessfully tried to repel the M23 as it recently advanced to a key strategic town in the eastern parts of the country called Goma. Description: With the armed conflict in Sudan intensifying, the Sudanese Army has claimed victory over the RSF (Rapid Support Forces) in the capital of Khartoum. The claims were immediately denied by RSF officials who blamed the Army for spreading false information and propaganda in order to boost morale.
