Description: German police forces have arrested up to 5 members of a far – right extremist group labeling itself as the Last Wave of Defense in the town Nebukow, on the northeastern parts of the country. According to the German Justice Minister, Stefanie Hubig, the age of the group members was particularly upsetting and ranged from 14 to 21 citing concerns that far – right extremism knew no age limit. The group had planned on attacking Germany’s political establishment and opponents of the far – right as well as migrants in order to disrupt or collapse Germany’s democratic system. The arrests were followed by last week’s dismantling of another far – right extremist group called Kingdom of Germany which also planned to conduct various acts of violence and vandalism that bordered terrorist activities.
Impact: German security capacities are overwhelmed by the rise of the far – right groups which represent a constant and looming threat to the country’s socio – economic and security establishment. Germany is one of the countries where the far – right AfD garnered the support of the outraged groups of people opposing migration, Germany’s involvement in the EU and the war in Ukraine. Far – right extremism tops the threat and risk polls in Germany as the country is constantly facing mounting pressure from the intensification of the ideology which includes teenagers and young adults and threatens to transpire towards a political culture in the country. Germany is facing an intense campaign of rise in political extremist ideologies which poses a substantial threat to the country’s internal stability and could stipulate one of the greatest impediments to Germany’s progress on various fronts within the EU and globally.
