Description: With Trump back in power, China has banked lucratively in refraining from their all-out geopolitical dominance and reproached relations with Japan and India. Trump’s threatening foreign policy measures has had allied countries on the edge as most of them depend on any kind of support from the US in the defense of their national interests and global or regional geopolitical ambitions. Sources indicated that China could handsomely benefit from Trump’s controversial executive orders since they directly pose a threat to relations with plethora of US allies. Among other countries, the UK, one of the closest US allies also ambitioned to reconstruct bilateral relations with China as positive political climate was sensed since Keir Starmer’s labor party won the elections last year.

Impact: Trump’s announced foreign policy measures risk the crippling of relations between the US and many of their closest allies. China would exploit the current situation by contributing to their diplomatic efforts to reinstate or build anew relations with countries who are sceptic of the current US approach towards international relations. Trump’s administration despite pre – election political guarantees and deliverance should reorganize and adopt a less unilateral way at least in foreign policy measures on the short term.
