Description: Yemeni’s Houthi rebels have vowed to limit all and any future attacks on Israeli – based ships as long as the ceasefire agreement holds. The announcement has been made through their Humanitarian Operations Coordination Center and reassurances have been made that other ships could finally start using the Suez Canal as one of the major trade shipping routes. Since the beginning of the Israel – Hamas war, the Houthis have seized one vessel and sunk two more in a constant campaign to impact world economic shipping trade and support Hamas and Hezbollah militarily within the Gaza Strip.

Impact: The Houthi rebel movement in Yemen has seriously impacted the Israel – Hamas war and the current rule of engagement guarantees and represents an adequate insurance for the ceasefire agreement to uphold. Houthi operations since the beginning of the war have severely impacted global shipping trade and in that aspect, they still represent a significant factor in future outcomes of the war. With Israel’s government preparing to reengage in military operations in both the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, the Houthis are positioned to guarantee the long lasting of the ceasefire agreement, which in turn could also enable rearmament of Hamas and Hezbollah.
